Homelessness means more than just being without a place of one's own. It means feeling shut out of a world that most people take for granted — a world of decent work, good health and spending money.

Solutions at Work helps homeless people make the transition to that world. We are currently or formerly homeless people who've been there and know what it's like. We also know what it takes to get out.

We are not a shelter or a meals program. We provide employment, counseling and whatever else it takes to help people bridge the gap to self-sufficiency. Not just for today or next week, but permanently.

We are not a job skills program. Our counseling focuses on life skills — like how to get and keep a job, how to manage money, and how to stay away from drugs and alcohol. In other words, we help people see what it means to live responsibly and how to get there.

We provide meaningful jobs. All of our transitional jobs involve providing services to other homeless, poor or elderly people. Our employees get to see the smiles on their customers' faces. They hear the heartfelt thanks. They see first hand the positive impact they can have on other people's lives.

Since 1989, we've helped thousands of people establish themselves on firm footing. We work to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, one person at a time.
